- Alumaguard Lite Data Sheet

Alumaguard® is a premier vapor barrier, weather barrier, and UV barrier in an easy to install 'peel n stick' roll membrane. Alumaguard® is rubberized bitumen, foil faced membrane designed specifically to stick to insulation facings such as FSK and ASJ.

Alumaguard® has an excellent perm rating, very good puncture resistance, excellent sound attenuation properties (STC 18), superior bond strength, and like all our membranes, Alumaguard® heals itself if punctured. Alumaguard® carries a TEN YEAR WARRANTY! We have tested down to -35° F with no failures in either peel adhesion strength (after installation) or low temperature flexibility.

Recommended substrates are faced polyiso board (excellent R values), faced Styrofoam board, and faced fiberglass board, sheathing products with foil on both sides are also excellent substrates and insulators. (Tuff-R, R-Max, Celotex, Foamular).

For application below 50° F, Polyguard manufactures Low Temperature Activators to permit installation down to 25°F, extending the northern climates application season!

Alumaguard® can be pre-applied to fabricated insulations, see our list of QUALIFIED FABRICATORS for one near you. If you pre-apply Alumaguard®, to pipe insulation, the installation must be banded; Alumaguard® is not a mechanical fastener and the weight of the insulation and hot temperatures can cause failure if not banded.
