Polyguard's waterproofing products have been used for waterproofing ICF foundations since ICF first became popular. Most ICF manufacturers recommended Polyguard's waterproofing membranes as one of the most foolproof methods of protecting from below grade leakage.

Polyguard Products has developed several products specific to the needs of the ICF industry. The Underseal products were developed as a combination waterproofing membrane and termite barrier in response to requests by the ICF industry.

650 Waterproofing Membrane

Polyguard 650 Membrane is the most recommended waterproofing systems for ICF below grade applications.

The primary use of Polyguard Underseal Membranes are for concrete foundation waterproofing and/or for protection from termite intrusion. The membrane can be applied directly to concrete, or to insulated concrete form (ICF) foundations.

Polyguard Underseal Membranes are covered by ICC-ES Legacy Report #2136. (Formerly SBCCI Evaluation Report #2136)

Other applications include mud slabs, related applications where waterproofing is critical, and termite remediation (protecting cracks and crevices from termite intrusion).

Polyguard Underseal Membranes are strong, pliable, self adhering sheet membranes consisting of a triple thickness polyethylene backing laminated to an extra thick layer of rubberized asphalt.Underseal Membranes adhere tightly and permanently to concrete. The polyethylene sheet forms a continuous barrier impervious to water. The adhered rubberized asphalt prevents lateral migration of any water which might find its way behind the sheet. Total membrane thickness is factory controlled.

Underseal XT Series Waterproofing Membrane with Built in Protection Board

Polyguard Underseal XTP Membrane has the added feature of a triple thickness backing. This extra thickness backing eliminates the need for a separate protection board system on flat vertical surfaces. Overall thickness is 65 mils.

Available in 39.36" x 61' rolls, 200 sq. ft. per carton.

Underseal XTP Detail Strip

Polyguard Underseal XTP Detail Strip has the added feature of an embedded wire mesh. It can be for detailing areas where a conformable membrane is desired. Overall thickness is 75 mils.

Available in 12" x 50' (4 rolls - 200 sq. ft. per carton).

Low Flow

Polyguard LowFlow™ - Drainage and Protection Mat is a green (100% post industrial recycled content) which offers two attractive approaches to drainage. For a full description of the development of LowFlow™, click here.

1. Since Low Flow™ costs about the same as widely used protection systems, specifiers can have drainage capability for approximately the same cost as a vertical protection system alone.
2. Specifiers who have called for full-wall coverage of conventional drainage systems (such as Polyguard Flow 15P shown below) can often value engineer by using a combination of Flow 15P in staggered chimneys, and Low Flow™ between the chimneys. Few site soil conditions require complete coverage with Flow 15P to obtain sufficient drainage.

Polyguard Flow 15P Drainage and Protection System is a conventional "dimple board" drainage system with a built-in protection layer.

Horizontal Drainage System - Flow 18H
Polyguard Flow 18H Drainage and Protection System is a strong (18,000 lb/ft2 compressive strength) "Dimple board" system for normal horizontal applications.
