DESCRIPTION:
WindowSeal™ is a 25 mil self-adhering, self-sealing tape made with rubberized asphalt waterproofing coating, laminated to polyethylene film. The coating is supplied in rolls, with an easy to remove film release liner, used to strip in or flash window frames, door frames, and other construction seams. WindowSeal™40 is a 40 mil self-adhering, self-sealing tape consisting of rubberized asphalt waterproofing coating, laminated to a extra high strength polyethylene film backing, and an easy to remove film release liner. WindowSeal™ ArcFlash™ is a 70 mil self-adhering, self-sealing tape made with rubberized asphalt waterproofing coating, laminated toa crimped and stretchable high strength film backing.

USES:
WindowSeal™ products are used to strip in or flash straight window frames, door frames, and other construction seams. If material is to be applied to round-top or custom shaped areas, ArcFlash™ should be installed.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES: (See steps 1-4 on above, plus the following points)

• The installation sequence is important because all edges must be shingle lapped to prevent entry of water.
• The surface must be dust free, smooth, and dry. Do not apply over silicone caulk or other solvent based products.
• Test WindowSeal™ adhesion to sheathing. Some sheathing boards contain components which reduce tape adhesion. If adhesion is inadequate, prime with Polyguard Polybond Liquid Adhesive. If Polyguard adhesive is not available, 3M Company® #77 Spray Adhesive™ may be used.
• Cut the length you want to use from the roll with utility knife or scissors.
• Remove 12" or more of the release film and center the tape over the area to be sealed.
• Firmly press or roll the tape to the area being sealed. As you go along, pull more of the release film from the tape, exposing the adhesive surface, pressing down the tape and keeping it smooth. After installation, press tape onto surface and roll all tape surfaces with a hand roller.

STORAGE:
Clean and dry inside storage is preferable. If you are installing in cool weather, store material inside at room temperature for 24 hours prior to installation. Keeping the roll warm will improve the adhesiveness of the material when you install it.

LIMITATIONS:
Do not apply this material to flexible vinyl surfaces. Plasticizers used in flexible vinyls are often incompatible with rubberized asphalt adhesives. Rigid PVC, such such as fins used in vinyl windows, is compatible.

At cold temperatures, 45 deg. F or lower, this material will lose a portion of its adhesiveness. Test for adhesion at the start of the job to see if there is sufficient adhesion. If not, follow instructions under storage, and wait until warmer temperatures. Use of a heat gun or liquid adhesive can also improve adhesion at lower temperatures.

This material is not compatible with EDPM materials, or with solvent or silicone based caulks.

This material may also be mechanically fastened using nails, screws, or staples if conditions make adhesion difficult.

Do not expose material to sunlight for over 60 days.

Do not use on roof surfaces, or anywhere that this material might be walked on. The material has a slippery surface.

PRECAUTIONS:
If liquid adhesives are used, read their directions for any limitations. Solvent based liquid adhesive, such as Polyguard Polybond™ Liquid Adhesive should be handled carefully, as they can be harmful or fatal if swallowed. Some liquid adhesives are marked as red label, which means there is a danger from flames, sparks, welding and smoking during application. Keep out of reach of children.

Polyguard Productswill replace F.O.B. Ennis, TX any material with manufacturing defects which cause leaks for a period of five years from date of purchase. Polyguard Products, Inc. wll not be liable for any other claims or damages, whether direct or indirect, including consequential damagesor incidental damages.
