In the late 1960's Polyguard's major business was self-adhesive tapes, used as corrosion coatings on underground steel pipelines. The idea of modifying these self-adhesive coatings to protect structures from water and moisture was advanced, and the Architectural Division was born with several products providing complete building envelope solutions.

We began with Polyguard 650 membrane waterproofing, a product which by the mid 1980's was specified worldwide for foundations and plaza deck protection.

In the 1980's we moved above grade, protecting the building envelope with products for roofing, walls, window flashing, thru wall flashing, decks, and tile underlayments.

In 2003 Polyguard introduced the Underseal™ line, a below grade Underslab Waterproofing product line with more barrier features than any product on the market today. More importantly, the Underseal™ line contains technology, proven over 30 years by state DOT usage and research, which reduces the amount of cracking in slabs and maintains a permanent seal when the slab does crack. The Underseal™ line also provides a methane barrier and radon barrier protection.
